Product Summary
The AM7990JC-80 is a local area network controller for ethernet. It is a 48-pin VLSI device designed to greatly simplify interfacing a microcomputer or minicomputer to an IEEE-802.3/Ethernet locla area network. The AM7990JC-80 is designed using a scaled N-channel MOS technology and is compatible with a variety of microprocessors.
Parametrics
AM7990JC-80 absolute maximum ratings: (1)storage temperature: -65 to 150℃; (2)ambient temperature with power applied: -25 to 125℃; (3)supply voltage to ground potential conitnuous: -0.3 to 7V; (4)commercial power dissipation: 1.5W; (5)military power dissipation: 2W.
Features
AM7990JC-80 features: (1)compatible with ethernet and IEEE-802.3 10base5 type A and 10base2 type B cheapernet; (2)easily interfaced to 8086, 68000, Z8000, LSI-II microprocessors; (3)on-board DMA and buffer mamagement, 48 byte FIFO; (4)24-bit wide linear addressing; (5)network and packet error reporting; (6)back-to-back packet reception with as little as 4.1μsec interpacket gap time; (7)diagnostic routines: internal/external loop back, CRC logic check, time domain reflectometer.
