The L7809CV is a positive regulator. The L7809CV can provide local on-card regulation, eliminating thedistribution problems associated with single point regulation. If adequate heat sinking is provided,the L7809CV delivers over 1A output current.Although designed primarily as a fixed voltage regulator,the L7809CV can be used with external components to obtain adjustable voltage and currents.
